*13-year-old girl present with lower abdominal pain and amenorrhoea.

What is the most likely diagnosis?
Answer
Answer:
Haematocolpos
Case Discussion:
MR images showed hemorrhagic fluid in a distended vagina. The uterine cavity is not dilated.
In haematocolpos, there is accumulation of menstrual blood in the vagina in the setting of an anatomical obstruction, usually an imperforate hymen. When there is concurrent uterine distention, the term haematometrocolpos is used.
Patients may present with amenorrhoea or abdominal pain.
Causes
imperforate hymen: the most frequent cause
transverse vaginal septum
